North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve (known for wild flowers)
Phantom Falls Loop; 7.2mi; 885ft elevation gain; Drive ~ 2hr one way; Hike Time: 3hr ; MODERATE
On Sunday April 5, we will be hiking the Phantom Falls Loop. I rate the hike as moderately difficult. There are some very rocky sections where it could be easy to twist an ankle, interspersed with a smooth rolling trail. The scenery is truly gorgeous at this time of year and expect to see:
- Fields of wildflowers - in particular Yellow Carpet, Goldfields, Poppies, Lupine and Owls Clover
- Waterfalls
- A lot of people on the trail and a full car park
Because of the expected crowds we are leaving home at 7:30am with an expected arrival time of 9:30am.
