View through a window may influence recovery from surgery

In a ground breaking study, Roger S. Ulrich led a research effort into examining post surgical outcomes for patients with a room that had a window view of a natural setting compared to patients with a room that had a window view to a brick wall. Those patients that had a view of a natural scene, had shorter post-operative stays, used less analgesics (pain killers) and had less negative comments recorded in the nurses logs.
